Read on

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Read On is designed to teach English language newspaper Bremer publisher Carl Ed. Schünemann KG .

Content

Read On has been published monthly since the 1980s and contains articles about Great Britain, the USA, Australia and other countries in the English-speaking world. The articles are written specifically for less advanced learners, in "easy English". The authors are exclusively native speakers with experience in language teaching. In addition, for young readers there are reports on pop stars, film and television, fashion, websites and much more. Each article is supplemented by a comprehensive vocabulary that extends down to the basic vocabulary so that it can be read without a dictionary.

Exercise and teaching materials can also be downloaded from the publisher's website (“online service”). Certain articles are also offered as audio files in MP3 format. These are used for listening comprehension and are partly didacticized accordingly.

In addition, a selection of articles is bundled in a workbook called "Read On Update" published. Since October 2012 there has also been the “Word Puzzles” booklet, which is a playful way of expanding vocabulary.

In addition to the Read On, the Carl Ed. Schünemann Verlag also publishes six other language newspapers: the World and Press (English for advanced learners), the Business World and Press (business English), the Revue de la Presse (French), the Revista de la Prensa (Spanish), the Leggere l 'Italia (Italian) and the press and language (German as a foreign language).
