Robert Bramkamp

Robert Bramkamp (born May 15, 1961 in Münster ) is a German director and screenwriter .

Life

Robert Bramkamp was born in Münster in 1961. From 1981 to 1988 he studied German at the Westphalian Wilhelms University there , and from 1983 to 1988 he also studied film at the Art Academy in Münster . In 1988 he became a master student of Prof. Lutz Mommartz . Since 1988 he has been working regularly with the visual artist Susanne Weirich, with whom he has been married since 2002.

Director and screenwriter

His first full-length feature film was Yellow Sorte , which was produced for the small television game. From 1989 to 1990 he produced an alternative TV program with Eine, Keiner, 100,000 . The Conquest of the Middle , his second feature film, premiered at the 1995 Berlinale . Bramkamp has made a name for himself as a director of unconventionally experimental films, especially with his subsequent films, Prüfstand 7 (based on motifs from “The Ends of the Parable” by Thomas Pynchon ) and Der Bootgott vom Seesportclub .

In 2013, his three-year art project, the film production Art Girls with Inga Busch , Megan Gay and Peter Lohmeyer in the leading roles, premiered at the Hof International Film Festival.

From 1998 to 2006 he was a lecturer for feature film directing at the University of Film and Television “Konrad Wolf” in the Potsdam media city Babelsberg , and since 2008 he has been a professor at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg .
