The Real Brasília Futebol Clube is a football club from Brasília ( DF ), the capital of Brazil .
history
The club was founded on February 22, 1996 under the name Esporte Clube Dom Pedro II by members of the fire department (Bombeiros) of the capital in the administrative region of Guará . It was named in reminiscence of Emperor Peter II , under whose aegis the Brazilian fire brigade was founded in 1853. After moving to the Núcleo Bandeirante administrative region , the name was changed to Esporte Clube Dom Pedro Bandeirante in 2009 . In 1999 and 2008, the men's team of the club reached the runner-up in the federal district, competed in Série C in those years and played in the competition for the Copa do Brasil in 2000 and 2009 .
In 2016 the club was renamed Real Futebol Clube . Originally, the adoption of the name Real Brasília Futebol Clube was intended, but it was initially dispensed with to avoid confusion with Brasília FC . Only when he was relegated to the second division in the 2019 season, the final name change was announced in November of that year, which was officially carried out on December 10, 2019.
In the 2019 season, the club entered the women's district championship with a newly formed women's team, which it coached by Evilásio de Almeida was able to conclude with the title win after the team prevailed in the finals against the Minas Brasília TC . After the first leg on December 1st was still a 1-1 draw, the final was decided in the subsequent second leg on December 7th with a 2-0 win. Both games were played in the Estádio Maria de Lourdes Abadia in Ceilândia . Real's women had already qualified for the Brazilian Série A2 of the 2020 season by reaching the finals.
