Rebutia spegazziniana is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the botanist Carlos Luis Spegazzini .

description

Rebutia spegazziniana grows sprouting with spherical to short cylindrical, yellowish green to dark green bodies and forms groups. The bodies reach heights of 6 to 9 centimeters with diameters of 2 to 2.5 centimeters and have beet roots. The approximately 18 ribs are clearly divided into cusps. The small areoles on it are white. There are 3 to 4 yellow central spines with a brown tip, which can also be missing, and which are up to 3 millimeters long. The up to 14 radial spines are yellowish and sometimes have a brownish tip. They are spread out to a little protruding and up to 4 millimeters long.

The bright red flowers are up to 4 centimeters long and reach the same diameter. The spherical fruits are reddish green.

Distribution and systematics

Rebutia spegazziniana is common in Bolivia in the Tarija department and in Argentina in the Salta province . The first description was published in 1933 by Curt Backeberg . Aylostera spegazziniana (Backeb.) Backeb is a synonym .
