Rebutia spinosissima is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rebutia spinosissima usually grows sprouts with spherical to flattened spherical, bright green bodies and then forms groups. The bodies reach a diameter of up to 4 centimeters and have fiber roots. The approximately 15 ribs are clearly divided into cusps. The small, closely spaced areoles on it are white. There are 4 to 5 somewhat strong, yellowish-white to brown central spines that are up to 12 millimeters long. The 10 to 12 radial spines are whitish. They are fine, bristle-like and up to 10 millimeters long.

The yellowish orange to medium red flowers are 3 to 4 centimeters long and reach the same diameter. The fruits are small.

Distribution and systematics

Rebutia spinosissima is common in Bolivia in the Tarija department and in Argentina in the Salta province . The first description was published by Curt Backeberg in 1935 . Aylostera spinosissima (Backeb.) Backeb is a synonym .
