REC , also: ● REC , is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Q-Tarō Hanamizawa , which was published from 2002 to 2013 in Japan. It was adapted as an anime and video game .
content
The 26-year-old Fumihiko Matsumaru ( 松 丸 文彦 ) is postponed from his date, but instead meets the young Aka Onda ( 恩 田 赤 ), with whom he watches the film instead. When Fumihiko accompanies the 20-year-old voice actress ( seiyū ) home, they realize that they don't live far from each other. When Aka's house burns down, she moves in with Fumihiko without further ado.
But their relationship soon becomes a problem, because Fumihiko works in marketing and his concept is to be implemented with Aka's voice. But both fear disadvantages if their relationship becomes known and therefore try to hide them.
Publications
The publisher Shogakukan published the manga in its magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X from issue 12/2002 (November 19, 2002) to 4/2013 (March 19, 2013). The chapters were also summarized in so far (as of March 2013) 14 Tankōbon . A Chinese translation was published by Tong Li.
Adaptations
Television series
In 2006 the Shaft studio produced an anime adaptation of the manga for television based on the script by Reiko Yoshida and directed by Ryūtarō Nakamura . The character design was created by Hideyuki Morioka and the artistic direction was taken over by Hiroshi Katō.
From February 2 to March 30, 2006, nine episodes of the series were shown by TBS on Japanese television. A bonus episode was later released on DVD. Animax Asia showed an English version, and there is also a Korean and a Chinese translation.

Video game
In 2006 Idea Factory produced a video game based on REC for the PlayStation 2 . In the Ren'ai adventure , the player in the role of Fumihiko Matsumaru selects the speakers for a new television program. Under the title REC: Doki Doki Seiyū Paradise ( REC ☆ ド キ ド キ 声優 パ ラ ダ イ ス ☆ , ~ Paradaisu ) the game was released on November 30, 2006 in a normal and a limited version.
