The Legal Information Center of Lithuania ( Lithuanian Valstybės įmonė Teisinės informacijos centras , shortly VĮ TIC ) was a public legal institution and a former state-owned company with limited civil liability in Lithuania . The company was responsible for managing the legal information. It authored and owned the Lithuanian national legal database LITLEX . TIC was based in Žirmūnai .
history
After Lithuania's independence was declared, the Lithuanian Forensic Institute was reorganized. On November 23, 1991, the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania established the Lithuanian Institute of Law by order of the Lithuanian government . As of November 30, 1991, the state legal information department at the Ministry of Justice was dissolved. His materials were handed over to the Law Research Institute.
In 1993 the functions of the legal information department of the Institute for Law were transferred to the newly established legal information center. From 2007 there was an internal union (head Tatjana Siniakova). In February 2008 the Legal Information Center was reorganized and on March 11, 2011 it was connected to Registrų centras . In 2011, an investigation was opened against the director and the head accountant for the waste of 1 million litas (≈0.3 million euros ). Today the center bears the official name Department for Legal Information of the State Operational Register Center ( Lithuanian Valstybės įmonės Registrų centro Teisinės informacijos departamentas ).
