Recommended Records (RēR) is a British independent recording and distribution network for political and experimental music in the field of rock music.

The founders of the organization are Chris Cutler and Henry Cow , who founded the label in London in 1978 .

In 1978 Veit Stauffer organized a concert in Zurich with the band Henry Cow . At the suggestion of Chris Cutler, Veit founded "Records (RecRec)" in Switzerland in 1979 together with Daniel Waldner, initially as a mail order company, in 1981 with his own shop, followed in 1983 by the label (RecRec) with its own music production. In the autumn of 1983 Veit took over the company, whose range he continuously expanded with music productions in London. In 1991 the first comprehensive Rec-Rec catalog appeared, with a chronological description of each volume listed.

The label released over sixty bands and artists, including Fred Frith , Debile Menthol, The Ex , Nimal, Negativland and Guy Klucevsek . The distribution mainly promoted Swiss bands and has now gained a reputation as a promoter of alternative music across the Swiss border .
