The Red Bull XRow is a Swiss rowing regatta in which the rowing boat has to be carried in places . It runs from Zug to Lucerne and serves as a marketing tool for the Red Bull Group.

The competition route leads from Zug to Lucerne. These places are not on the same body of water, so the boat inevitably has to be carried. This is what sets this regatta apart from others.

From Zug it goes over Lake Zug to Immensee . There the boat is watered out and carried through Hohle Gasse to Küssnacht SZ . It goes through Lake Lucerne to Meggen , where the boat is re-watered and carried to Ober Rebstock. From there it goes to Lucerne through the Kappelbrücke to the Jesuitenplatz, where the water again takes place to walk with the boat on the shoulders through the finish just before the city theater. In the first edition in 2010 the goal was in the Swiss Life Arena and in the second edition in the Verkehrshaus Luzern.

A total of 18 rowing and 7 running kilometers have to be completed.

  • The regatta course is marked and must not be left
  • In the transition areas there are holding systems in which the rowing boats can be put down briefly
  • The rowing boat may not be changed
  • Only strapped figure eight may be driven
  • All rowers must be licensed
