Red Smith
Red Smith is an American country musician and disc jockey .
Life
Smith is from Sylvarena , Mississippi , and DJed at WBOK in New Orleans from 1952 to 1956 . In 1954 he played his first country records at Meladee Records and was signed to Coral Records at the end of the year . There he released his version of BB King's song You Upset Me Baby along with a cover by Meladee colleague Luke McDaniel's Whoa Boy . In 1958, Smith appeared regularly on KLLL in Lubbock , Texas . He soon returned to his main activity as a radio host.
