The discography of the South Korean girl group Red Velvet consists of four studio albums , eleven EPs and 14 singles . Red Velvet was founded in 2014 by the South Korean talent agency SM Entertainment and consists of five members.
The group's first EP, Ice Cream Cake , was released on March 17, 2015. The album immediately hit the top of the South Korean music charts. On Ice Cream Cake followed The Red , which - based on the playing time - the first album of the group. It was released on September 9, 2015, entitled Song Dumb Dumb . The album topped various music charts, including the Billboard World Album Charts , while Dumb Dumb became their first single, which hit a million downloads. On March 17, 2016, Red Velvet released their second EP, The Velvet , which featured a more mature and R&B influenced style of music. Their third EP, Russian Roulette , was released on September 7, 2016, along with the theme song of the same name. The fourth EP, Rookie , was released on February 1, 2017, and the fifth EP, The Red Summer , was released on July 9, 2017. In 2018, Red Velvet first released their third album, The Perfect Red Velvet on January 29, 2018, which was followed by the two EPs Summer Magic on August 6, 2018 and RBB on November 30, 2018. The group also released their first Japanese EP, #CookieJar, on July 4th, 2018, which ties in with the sound of other Red Velvet summer songs. Another Japanese EP, Sappy, was released on May 29, 2019. In addition, Red Velvet released two EPs in 2019 with The ReVe Festival: Day 1 on June 19, 2019 and The ReVe Festival: Day 2 on August 20, 2019. The ReVe Festival series was released on December 23, 2019 with Red Velvet's fourth album and first compilation album, The ReVe Festival: Finale completed.
According to sources and record awards, it has sold more than 2.5 million records to date. The group's most successful release is the single Bad Boy with around 2.5 million units sold.
