Redeem is a Swiss indie rock band.

Career

The band was founded in 2003 in Zug, Switzerland by guitarist and singer (Saint) Stefano Paolucci and bassist Pascal Münger, who later played for The Formers. They started writing a few songs.

In January 2004 the band decided to record their first demo, which only lasted 2 days. Most of it was recorded live with various drummers. Shortly afterwards the demo was sent to various record labels in Germany and Switzerland. The feedback was very positive and Redeem got some good offers from German labels.

After her first steps in the music business, Redeem worked with producer Tommy Vetterli (formerly Coroner, guitar) in the Newsound Studios, Zurich on the recordings for an album. After the completion of “Eleven”, based on the Pearl Jam album “Ten”, a record deal with PointMusic, Munich, followed. In October 2006 "Eleven" was published in Germany and Switzerland.

At the end of 2007, Simon Steiner joined the band as a permanent drummer. Redeem's first single "Alive" as well as the second single "Time" had high rotation on many Swiss radio stations and slowly but surely they conquered the airplay charts. In addition, VIVA Switzerland supports the three boys with massive video rotation. Last summer the band toured Switzerland, partly as a support act for bands like “Gotthard”, “Magnum” and “+44”, but also as an act at festivals like “Rockfest” with Alice Cooper and the great “Jazzfestival Montreux” .

In January 2008 the band signed a publishing contract with Universal Music , Berlin, and is currently working on the second album in the Pleasurepark Studios with Jose Alvarez-Brill (Joachim Witt, Heppner, Wolfsheim, Rammstein, Depeche Mode).

In March 2008 Redeem toured the largest German cities in support of Daughtry , and in autumn 2008 they were touring Europe as the opening act for 3 Doors Down .

Alessio Piazza has been the bass player for Redeem since 2012.

In January 2016 Redeem returned with the first single Borderline from the album Awake, which was released on September 23, 2016 . The second single was called The Last Goodbye. The video for the song was shot in August 2016 in the small concert hall in Zurich.
