The English Coonhound was bred in Virginia , Tennessee, and Kentucky in the 19th century . It is smaller than the Black and Tan Coonhound , like this one it is a raccoon hunting dog .
Even if the name suggests otherwise, it is a purely American breed of dog. His name suggests that his ancestors also come from England. The dogs are up to 68 cm tall. Their fur is typically short and hard, usually spotted red or blue, three-colored with stippling. The ears are long and thin.
