The Black and Tan Coonhound is one of the FCI ( No. 300, Gr. 6, Sec. 1.1 ) recognized dog breed from the United States , which is counted among the Coonhounds .
Ancestors are the Bloodhound , Kerry Beagle and American Foxhound . All Coonhounds are specialized breeds for hunting raccoons and opossums . They pick up the trail and drive the animals up a tree, where they bark at them. The Black and Tan Coonhound (from English .
