history

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were created in 1928 by HB Reese , a former milk producer and delivery master for Milton S. Hershey . Reese was inspired by Hershey and so left his dairy farm to start his own candy business. HB Reese Candy Co. initially produced and used Hershey's chocolate in the basement of Reese's house, which was located in Hershey, Pennsylvania . Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was his biggest success. In the 1940s and 1950s, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups became known nationally. Years after Reese's death in 1963, HB Reese Candy Co. was sold to the Hershey Company for $ 23.5 million.
