Reformed Church Davos Monstein
The Reformed Church in Davos fraction Monstein is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
The church was built in 1896/97 on the Hööhaalda , a rocky promontory with a panoramic view of the Landwassertal . Architecturally, it is completely shaped by Art Nouveau . The playful, multi-colored window in the center of the choir is a particular testament to this . It shows a Greek cross with a cup in the middle. The baptismal font does not stand in the choir, as is usually the case in the Reformed part of Graubünden, but in front of the three-step staircase. In its place in the choir is the organ with a triple brochure .
The church replaced the previous building from 1668 after the end of the Bündner turmoil , which was inaugurated under the patronage of Peter and which is still in the center of the village today, but cannot be used for services due to cracks in the walls and unsafe statics.
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden is part of the Davos Altein parish and thus Colloquium X Davos-Albula .
