Hans D. Mummendey

Hans Dieter Mummendey (born June 21, 1940 in Schwiebus / Świebodzin as Hans Dieter Schmidt ) is a German psychologist who has been professor of social psychology at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University since 1974 .

Life

After attending grammar school in Wuppertal - Vohwinkel from 1950 to 1959 , Mummendey studied psychology in Cologne and Bonn. After his diploma in 1963 and his doctorate in 1965, he worked as an assistant to Hans Thomae at the University of Bonn and from 1968 to Werner D. Fröhlich at the University of Mainz , where he qualified as a professor in 1970 in psychology . From 1971 to 1974 he was Scientific Counselor and Professor with Gustav A. Lienert at the Psychological Institute of the University of Düsseldorf . Since 1974 and unchanged after his retirement in 2005, he has been teaching social psychology at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University .

He also wrote novels and in 1990 founded the Neues Literaturkontor publishing house in Bielefeld and Münster .
