History and equipment
There is first documentary evidence of a church at the present location under the patronage of St. Valentine in 1518, which was probably much older. The current church tower with onion dome was added in 1803. The interior of the church was last restored in 1982/83, with a small, artistically painted organ replacing the old harmonium .
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Pignia, which had been independent for a long time from the Reformation up to the great wave of emigration in Schams during the 19th century, as a preaching place of the parish of Andeer-Clugin-Pignia, which has merged since January 1, 2010, within the Colloquium II Schams- Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa .
