Reformed Church of Sils-Maria
The Reformed Church Sils-Maria in the same village neighborhood of Sils in the Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
In the Middle Ages, near today's church, there was a sacred building documented in 1496 under the patronage of the Archangel Michael . In 1597 the new building, one of the first Protestant church buildings in Graubünden, took place after Sils i. E./Segl accepted the Reformation in 1552 . In 1764 the church was extensively renovated.
Until the end of 2009 the church was run as the Open Church Sils-Maria by the ecumenical foundation of the same name and was a cultural center of the village.
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Sils-Maria as a place of preaching for the merged parish of Sils / Silvaplana / Champfèr within the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès . Sils-Baselgia belongs to the regional church association Il Binsaun .
