The Refuge de Turia is a refuge located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The refuge, built in 1973 and located at an altitude of 2,427  m , belongs to the administration of the Vanoise National Park . The hut is also accessible all year round outside of the opening times.

Approaches

The normal route begins in the hamlet of la Gurraz, which is halfway between Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise and Tignes . The path begins at the approx. 1600 m high car park du Chantel; This is where the ascent to the Refuge de La Martin refuge starts . From there you first climb a path with great views to the alpine pastures of Cousset and Fenil. On the last part of the hike, the view of Mont Blanc opens up . For the hike, which involves a difference in altitude of 800 m, you should allow approx. 2h15.

Alternatively, you can start the ascent from the forester's lodge Le Planay (altitude 1300 m) near Villaroger . The path leads close to the peaks of l'Aiguille rouge and Mont Turia. On this path you have to overcome a difference in altitude of 1200 m. You should plan around 4:30 a.m. for the ascent.

There is also a path from Les Arcs . Shortly before Arc2000 you first go in the direction of the violet plan. On this path you have to overcome an altitude difference of 750 m. You should also plan around 4:30 a.m. for the ascent.

The hut serves as a starting point for the ascent of the Dôme de la Ding and the Mont Pourri .
