Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and Social Justice ( Amharic ቀስተደመና ኢትዮጵያ ንቅናቄ ለዴሞክራሲና ለማህበራዊ ፍትህ transcribed Qestedemena Ityopya niqenaqé leDémokrasina leMahberawi fiteh , English Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and Social Justice ; abbreviation: RE: MDSJ ) is an opposition political party in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia .

The Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and Social Justice party was founded by Professor Mesfin Woldemariam . The founding chairman of the RE: MDSJ party is Berhanu Nega .

In the last general legislative parliamentary elections in Ethiopia in 2005 , which were held on May 15 of the same year, the party RE: MDSJ was together with the United Ethiopian Democratic Party / Medhin ( UEDP-M ) member party of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy , which together won a total of 109 of the total of 527 seats in the House of Representatives (the First Chamber of the Ethiopian Parliament ). Eight MPs (or 1.52 percent) went to the party Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and Social Justice , of which the MPs were all men.
