Iveta Radičová government
The Iveta Radičová government was the government of Slovakia from July 8, 2010 to April 4, 2012 under Prime Minister Iveta Radičová . It replaced the Fico government , which had been in power since July 2006 . For the first time in Slovak history , a woman-led government. After the coalition broke, Radičová was only temporarily in office from October 11, 2011.
development
The government coalition was formed after the regular parliamentary elections on June 12, 2010 and was formed by the bourgeois parties SDKÚ-DS , Sloboda a Solidarita , KDH and Most-Híd . Although the then ruling Social Democratic Party had clearly won the elections, it was unable to form a coalition capable of governing. With that she went into the opposition with the nationalists . On August 10, 2010 the government received the trust of the Slovak parliament with all 79 votes of the governing coalition (out of a total of 145 cast).
Due to differing views in the government on numerous issues, the cabinet was not considered to be very stable. Opposition leader Robert Fico had already formed a shadow cabinet for a possible takeover. The differences within the coalition regarding the expansion of the European EFSF "rescue package" led to Radičová's vote of confidence in the National Council in Bratislava on October 11, 2011 , which was answered negatively and led to the overthrow of the government. The Iveta Radičová government was only provisionally in office until April 4, 2012.
