Regimantas Čiupaila

Regimantas Čiupaila (born August 20, 1956 in Kaunas , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian mathematician and politician, Interior Minister of Lithuania and Deputy Mayor of Vilnius .

Life

In 1979 he completed his diploma in mathematics at the Mathematics Faculty of Vilnius University and from 1979 to 1983 the distance learning course at Vilnius University and at the Institute of Mathematics at the Academy of Science . In 1992 he received his doctorate in mathematics. Since 2004 he has been a lecturer at Vilnius University.

From 1990 to 1995 he was a deputy, from 1995 to 1997 and from 2010 to 2011 a member of the Vilnius City Council , from 1990 to 1991 Deputy Chairman of the Vilnius City Council (Deputy Mayor of Vilnius). From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Seimas .

From July 2007 he was Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania and from December 17, 2007 to December 9, 2008, Minister of the Interior of Lithuania. He was a member of the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga party . He is now a member of Lietuvos laisvės sąjunga (liberalai) .

Regimantas Čiupaila is married; he and his wife Dalia have three daughters.
