Regina Blenkle

Regina Blenkle (born April 1, 1961 in Haldensleben ) is a German politician . From 1994 to 1998 she was a member of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt for the PDS . It has been non-party since 1998. From 2015 until her suspension in 2017, she was mayor of the city of Haldensleben.

Education and life

Blenkle completed vocational training with high school diploma in Langenstein as an agricultural engineer and studied business administration in Jena . She worked as a crèche teacher and as a member of the council of the district / town. She completed a distance learning degree in State and Law in 1990. After 1990 successful business degree and entry into the basics of controlling. Since 1991 she has worked as an insurance specialist and entrepreneur.

Regina Blenkle was a member of the SED from 1980 to 1990, after the renaming from 1990 to 1998 the PDS. In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1994 , she was elected to the state parliament via the state list. In the state parliament she was secretary, member of the committee for economy and technology, in the committee for housing / urban development / transport, in the finance committee and in the fiduciary investigation committee. Since 1990 she has been elected city councilor in the city council of Haldensleben without interruption. There she was chairwoman of the Committee on Women, Labor, Social Affairs and the Construction Committee. She is also a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Haldensleben.

Since May 25, 2014 she has been an elected member of the Free Independent Voting Association (FUWG) in the Bördekreis district council and deputy parliamentary group leader. She was named a regular member of the youth welfare committee for the parliamentary group, is a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Börde and of the shareholders' meeting of the waste disposal company "Untere Ohre" mbH Wolmirstedt.

In 2015 Blenkle was elected mayor of the city of Haldensleben as a candidate of the free voters; she took office on July 7, 2015. After the city council passed a resolution on February 2, 2017, she was temporarily suspended from work. She complained against it. Even after the Magdeburg Higher Administrative Court confirmed the suspension in July 2017, Blenkle held on to her position.
