Regina Masaracchia

Regina Masaracchia (born October 27, 1966 in Berlin ) is a German nurse , author , illustrator and lactation consultant .

Masaracchia grew up as the eldest daughter of a German mother and a Sicilian father in Berlin-Tempelhof . In 1985 she graduated from high school and one year later began training as a nurse at the Neukoellner Hospital, which she successfully completed in 1990 with the state examination. She practiced this profession for a year and began studying German, elementary school education and Italian at the Free University of Berlin .

In 1996 she met her husband on vacation in Sicily , she moved in with him and they got married. The couple had three sons. In 2005 her first non-fiction book "Gespaltene Gefuehle. Lips-Kiefer-Gaumenspalte: Ein Elternratgeber" was published by the Swiss publishing house Oesch, 2007 her breastfeeding, carrying and sleeping guide "Satisfied needs. Happiness for mother and child", also published by Oesch Verlag. In 2008 the entertainment novel "Scalpel und Schwesternhaeubchen" was published during the baby breaks.

On the subject of "Breastfeeding, Carrying and Sleeping", the children's non-fiction series "I know how", which she also illustrates, was created with various co-authors (Ute Taschner, Iris-Susanne Brandt-Schenk, Heike Wolter, Stephanie Schneider), which she also illustrates. There are now 13 books published. In 2008 Regina Masaracchia completed additional training as a breastfeeding and lactation consultant IBCLC in Bolzano and started working again as a nurse at the University Hospital of Palermo.
