Regina Strassegger

Regina Strassegger (* 1955 ) is an Austrian journalist for Austrian Broadcasting Corporation .

Life

After completing his undergraduate studies in contemporary history at the University of Graz , Strassegger took a research grant to southern Africa in 1980. This was followed by three years of development project work in Namibia, including post-graduate studies in Edinburgh in 1983/84. After being refused entry by the South African apartheid regime in 1985, she started her dissertation “The History of Ovambo Migrant Workers During the German Colonial Era” at the universities of Graz and Joensuu in Finland.

Between 1989 and 2013 Regina Strassegger worked as a documentary filmmaker for Austrian Broadcasting, and in the meantime as an election observer for the UN , OSCE and as a consultant for the Austrian Office for Foreign Affairs and the Institute for International Cooperation / Horizon 3000 in Cambodia, Namibia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Africa , Mozambique and Montenegro. From 2001 to 2003 she was in charge of the project for the 2003 Cultural Capital Graz Inge Morath Grenz.Räume.

Since January 2014 she has been working as a freelance journalist, author and project developer.
