Regino Delgado

Regino Delgado Robau (born September 7, 1956 in Santo Domingo , † February 2, 2016 ) was a Cuban football player .

Athletic career

Delgado began his adult career at FC Azucareros , with whom he won the Cuban championship in 1974 and 1976 . After the second title he moved to FC Villa Clara , where the midfielder added five more championships to his collection of titles. In 1979 and 1980 he was the top scorer of the championship.

From the mid-1970s Delgado ran on for the Cuban national team . Best Result in addition to the participation in the 1976 Olympic Games and 1980 Olympic Games were the title wins at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974, 1978 and 1986 and the finals in football competition of the Pan American Games in 1979 , in which a 0: 3 final defeat to Brazil the Title win was missed. He also played for Cuba at the Pan American Games in 1975, 1983 and 1987.

After the end of his career, Delgado worked as a coach in the state athlete training. He died of a heart attack at the age of 59 .
