The Regiomontanus-Gymnasium Haßfurt is a large high school in the Haßberge district with around 1050 students (school year 2018/19) with a large, predominantly rural catchment area. The number of pupils has risen continuously in the last few years (in 1989 still 864 pupils).

School and school environment

The original main building dates back to 1975, the fountain (Regiomontanus fountain) in front of the main entrance by Waldemar Kuhn . The high school, which is part of the Haßfurt school center, has very extensive sports facilities within this framework: two renovated gyms, a triple hall, extensive outdoor facilities for athletics and ball sports and a modern school and club swimming pool (Die Welle). Long-term extension and renovation measures have been underway since 2010.

During the active break, students can receive balls, badminton rackets, ropes for jumping or juggling material to “let off steam”.

The school center has had a new all-day care building since autumn 2008. The most important features are a large cafeteria with lunch, a new library, a film / video or sound studio, open internet access, as well as rooms for promoting music, for support courses, homework supervision and learning workshops. Theater performances and lectures in the new upper level take place in the cafeteria.
