Regional economic archive

A regional economic archive is a public archive whose task is to take over historically relevant archive material from the economy of your region, to store it, to make it accessible and to make it accessible for research. The aim is not only to document the history of individual companies, associations or chambers, but also the economic history of the region concerned as a whole.

Regional economic archives are usually established on the initiative of the chambers of industry and commerce of the respective federal state.

The legal form of a regional economic archive is either a foundation ( Rheinisch-Westfälisches Wirtschaftsarchiv , Wirtschaftsarchiv Baden-Württemberg , Westfälisches Wirtschaftsarchiv , Niedersächsisches Wirtschaftsarchiv Braunschweig , Hanseatisches Wirtschaftsarchiv , Wirtschaftsarchiv Nord-West-Niedersachsen ) or a registered association ( Bayerisches Wirtschaftsarchiv , Berlin-Brandenburgisches Wirtschaftsarchiv , Hessian Economic Archives , Saxon Economic Archives , Thuringian Economic Archives ).
