Regions of Belgium (NUTS)

With NUTS: BE is the territorial division of Belgium according to the European "Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics" ( NUTS - French. Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics called). The first level of this system is called "regions" (German), "gewesten" (Flemish) and "regións" (French).

The NUTS 1-level areas are called: Flemish Region (Vlaams Gewest), Wallonia (Région Wallonne) and Brussels-Capital Region (Région de Bruxelles-Capitale / Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest). The NUTS-1 category corresponds to the three regions of Belgium.
