NUTS: BE
As NUTS: BE or NUTS regions in Belgium is called territorial organization of Belgium according to the European "Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics" ( NUTS ).
Basics
In Belgium, the five NUTS levels are assigned as follows:
- NUTS-1: the 3 regions / west / régions : Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region , whose territory has not belonged to any province since 1995
- NUTS 2: 11, the 10 Provinces / Provincies / Provinces and Brussels Capital
- NUTS-3: 44, the 43 districts / arrondissementen / arrondissements , (also called administrative districts ), whereby the district of Verviers is divided into two units, on the one hand municipalities of the French-speaking area, on the other hand, municipalities of the German-speaking area, which corresponds to the area of the German-speaking community Belgium as a separate NUTS region
- LAU : 589 municipalities / communes (as of 2018)
