Rei is a brand of detergent , which is on the German market since 1949th The company was founded by Willi Maurer in Boppard , who was soon producing in the Rei factories in Koblenz . In 1965, the brand moved by selling the works into portfolio of Procter & Gamble . In 2000, Rei was sold and bought by the German fit GmbH . Today the detergent is manufactured in Hirschfelde near Zittau in East Saxony .
In the 1950s, Rei in der Tube appeared on the German market for the first time . Originally intended as a hand wash, it was also used as a bath additive and dishwashing detergent . It wasn't until the 1960s that it was directly touted as a travel detergent.
In the 1970s, Rei positioned itself as a specialist in bright colors and modern fibers. The first liquid machine detergent followed in 1988. Washing powders with multifunctional ingredients ( Rei F3 , Rei all in one ) were later developed.
2001 was Swedish Model Marcus Schenkenberg for several TV - commercials obliged. As a result, sales increased.
Another development under the Rei brand is Rei Grüne Kraft , which is produced on the basis of renewable raw materials. In 2009 it was certified with the European Ecolabel .
