Rei Hirakawa ( Japanese 平川 怜 , Hirakawa Rei ; born April 20, 2000 in Chofu , Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Rei Hirakawa learned to play football in the youth team of FC Tokyo . Here he signed his first professional contract in 2018. The club, which is based in Tokyo Prefecture , played in the country's highest league, the J1 League . The club's U23 team played in the third division, the J3 League . As a youth player, he played once in the first team in J1 in 2017. From July 2019 to January 2020 he was loaned to the second division club Kagoshima United FC . At the end of the season, the club from Kagoshima had to relegate to the third division. After the loan, he returned to FC Tokyo in early 2020.

National team

Rei Hirakawa played twice in friendly matches for Japan's U20 national team in 2019 .
