Series of apologetic subjects

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The series Apologetic Topics (abbreviated RAT ) is a theological book series with the aim of presenting and critically evaluating Christian and esoteric currents and communities from a Protestant perspective.

Editor and publisher

The editor was Werner Thiede , adjunct professor for systematic theology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . 12 volumes were published, all of them by Friedrich Bahn Verlag (formerly in Konstanz , taken over in 1995 by Neukirchener Verlagsgesellschaft in Neukirchen-Vluyn ).

Years of publication 1992 to 1999

The series began in 1992 and was completed in 1999 with the 12th volume (title: Sektierertum ): This contains a concise general index for all volumes, and an "Afterword by the editor: At the end of the RAT". Thiede explains his concern in it: He wanted to publish paperbacks "which were written by scientists" and "were nevertheless easy to read".
