Reimund Stadler (born October 9, 1956 in Stühlingen ; † June 14, 1998 in Bayreuth ) was a German chemist ( macromolecular chemistry , supramolecular chemistry ).

Stadler studied chemistry at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation with a diploma in 1980 and a doctorate summa cum laude under Wolfram Gronski . The title of the dissertation was viscoelasticity and strain crystallization in thermoplastic elastomers . As a post-doctoral student he was visiting professor at the state university in Porto Alegre in Brazil. In 1989 he completed his habilitation under Hans-Joachim Cantow and then taught as C3 professor at the Institute for Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz before becoming professor and holder of the chair for Macromolecular Chemistry II at the University of Bayreuth in 1997 .

Stadler examined the structure-function relationships, rheology and dynamics of polymer structures and the synthesis of nanostructured polymers . Among other things, he synthesized novel self-organizing supramolecular structures such as amorphous and multi-dimensionally structured three-block copolymers.

The Reimund Stadler Minerva Center for Mesoscale Macromolecular Engineering was founded in 1998 at Ben Gurion University in the Negev and named after him. It was planned by Stadler before his death. In his honor, the Macromolecular Chemistry Section of the Society of German Chemists awards him the Reimund Stadler Prize, which is awarded every two years to young scientists in polymer research.

He was Associate Editor of Designed Monomers and Polymers and Editor of Polymer Bulletin .
