Pure sample book

The Reiner Musterbuch is one of the oldest known sample books . It comes from the Cistercian monastery Rein near Graz . The artist himself is unknown. The codex dates from the early 13th century and consists of graphics and sample alphabets.

The Codex has been in the Austrian National Library (Cod. 507) since the 16th century .
