Reinhard Exel

Reinhard Exel (born December 6, 1947 - July 4, 2014 ) was an Austrian mineralogist and geologist (deposits, mining).

Life

Exel received his doctorate in geology from the University of Innsbruck in 1977 ( Geology of the Marmolada (Western Dolomites) ). He then worked as an environmental geologist for the South Tyrolean provincial government in Bolzano. 1981 to 1983 he worked at the Federal Geological Institute (geological mapping, mining, ore microscopy).

Monographs on the minerals and ore deposits of Austria and South Tyrol and a geological guide of Sardinia come from him .

Since 2008 he has been the correspondent of the Federal Geological Institute.
