Reinhard Hauschild (politician)

Reinhard Hauschild (born August 19, 1949 in Monheim am Rhein ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former mayor of the city of Dormagen .

Life

Education and political career

Hauschild attended the Schloss-Gymnasium Benrath and got involved early in the Catholic youth. After successful study of jurisprudence in Cologne Hauschild in 1975 Judge at the Administrative Court Dusseldorf and interim assistant to the senior district director in Viersen .

In 1985 he moved to the North Rhine-Westphalian City and Community Day , where he became an alderman for the areas of school, culture, sport, social affairs and health. In 1991 he moved to the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs under the direction of Norbert Blüm (CDU), where, among other things, he was responsible for the introduction of long-term care insurance .

In 1999 Hauschild ran for the office of mayor of the city of Dormagen. He won the election against the previous incumbent Heinz Hilgers ( SPD ) and became the city's second full-time mayor. In the next local election in 2004 he was defeated by Hilgers, but remained politically active as a council member of the CDU until 2014.

From 2015 to 2017 Hauschild held the office of Deichgräf in Dormagen.

Hauschild is married with a son and a daughter. He lives in Dormagen.

Honors

On September 12, 2019, Reinhard Hauschild was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor of the city of Dormagen.
