Reinhard Pelte

Reinhard Pelte (* 1943 in Wernigerode ) is a German meteorologist , oceanographer , non-fiction author and crime writer .

Life

Reinhard Pelte was born in Wernigerode in 1943. He studied meteorology and oceanography (with a degree in meteorology). After completing his studies, he went to sea - including on the sailing training ship Gorch Fock - and got to know Africa , America , Arabia and the Mediterranean .

The detective novel Inselkoller was his debut as a writer. The novel is part of the series about the Flensburg criminal inspector Tomas Jung. The crime novels are all set in real locations in northern Germany . The actions and protagonists are all fictitious. In addition, Pelte also wrote non-fiction books on Northern Germany.

Reinhard Pelte lives near Flensburg . He is married and has two children.
