The house Isestraße 95 is a listed residential building in the Hamburg district of Harvestehude . It was built in 1910/11 by the architect Hermann J. Jahnke.

The four-storey building of the Hamburger Burg type forms the eastern corner of a residential complex grouped around a courtyard open to the street.

Known residents

  • In the 1910s, the actress Marie Ferron lived in the house .
  • In the 1920s, the mathematician Adolf Schumpelick lived in the house .
  • In the 1940s, the business journalist Paul Broszio lived in the house .
  • The German Chancellor Angela Merkel lived there in 1954 for the first six weeks after her birth and discharge from Elim Hospital with her mother Herlind Kasner in the apartment of her grandmother Gertrud Jentzsch, before Herlind Kasner and her daughter followed her husband Horst to Quitzow .
