Reinhard Schmitz

Reinhard Schmitz (born June 9, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player . He was used in midfield and in defense.

In the 1973/74 season the defender was a member of the professional squad of 1. FC Cologne . After he could not assert himself there, however, he left the FC after a year. After a year at Union Solingen , he went to Tennis Borussia Berlin . The Berliners had just been promoted to the Bundesliga . At the end of the season they were relegated and Schmitz went to the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1979 he moved to SC Viktoria Köln , where he ended his active career in 1981.
