Reinhold Quartet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Reinhold Quartet is a string quartet ensemble that was founded in 1996.

history

The Reinhold Quartet, consisting of musicians from the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, was founded in 1996 with the desire to make music together and to look for their own musical paths.

They received important suggestions from Karl Suske and Thomas Brandis. Since 1997 the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk has invited the ensemble to numerous live and studio productions. This is how recordings by Joseph Haydn, Anton Bruckner, Johannes Brahms, Antonín Dvořák, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Arnold Mendelssohn, Anton Webern, Lucino Chailly, Peter Maxwell Davies and Judith Weir were made.

In addition to successful concerts in the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Semperoper Dresden, the four musicians also give guest performances nationwide and on international podiums. Particularly noteworthy are concerts in Spain, a Leoš Janáček cycle in Prague and a concert in the Edvard Grieg House in Bergen. In the course of its 20 years of activity, the RQ has produced numerous CDs for the labels Querstand, Genuin and, since 2012, for cpo.
