Hubert Tintelott (born October 17, 1947 in Paderborn ) was Secretary General of the International Kolping Society from 1973 to August 2012 . Markus Demele has been his successor since September 1, 2012 .

Life

Hubert Tintelott studied business administration at the universities of Nuremberg and Münster from 1969 to 1973 . After graduating with a degree in business administration , Tintelott was elected Secretary General of the International Kolping Society in 1973. After the ten-year term of office specified in the plant's statutes , he was re-elected several times for a further five years. As Secretary General he was responsible for the content-related work of the International Kolping Society, which has around 450,000 members in more than 60 countries.

Tintelott is married, has two grown children and lives in Wesseling .

Honorary positions

In addition to his work as general secretary and various functions in the branches of the Kolping Society, Tintelott has been a member of the Central Committee of German Catholics since 1974 , where he holds the office of European spokesman. From 1997 to September 2012 he was chairman of the Working Group for Development Aid and has been a member of the German Justitia et Pax Commission since 1983 . He is also a member of the Renovabis Action Committee , advisor to the Episcopal Adveniat Commission and a member of the board of BEGECA (procurement company for church, charitable and social institutions with limited liability).

Honors

Pope Benedict XVI awarded him the Order of Gregorius on March 10, 2008 . Tintelott has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the KOLPING INTERNATIONAL award.
