German Commission Justitia et Pax
The German Justitia et Pax Commission has been a central advisory body to the Roman Catholic Church in Germany since 1967 . She is responsible for questions of international responsibility.
Participants and sponsors
The commission consists of several bishops , representatives of the Central Committee of German Catholics , senior staff from the German Bishops' Conference and the Catholic Office , from the aid agencies and from Catholic organizations and associations, as well as experts in international politics. The sponsors are the German Bishops' Conference and the Central Committee of German Catholics.
tasks
The commission tries to network the Roman Catholic actors who deal with international issues. For this purpose, she prepares church contributions for the design of development, peace and human rights policy in Germany on the basis of church social and peace teaching and the experience of Catholic organizations in international cooperation. It is in dialogue with parliament, government, political parties and social forces on the issues of the areas mentioned and develops concepts for the church's efforts in these fields of work.

Hildesheim Bishop Heiner Wilmer SCJ has been chairman of the commission since October 11, 2019 . The vice-chairpersons are the vice-chairwoman of the Central Committee of German Catholics , Karin Kortmann , and the managing director of the Working Group for Development Aid (AGEH), Claudia Lücking-Michel . The board also includes the managing director of Misereor , Pirmin Spiegel , missio- President Pastor Dirk Bingener and the head of the Universal Church and Migration division in the secretariat of the German Bishops' Conference , Ulrich Pöner.
