Heinz-Gerhard Justenhoven

Heinz-Gerhard Justenhoven (* 1958 in Cologne ) is a German Catholic theologian who works in the field of peace research.

Life

Heinz-Gerhard Justenhoven studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Philosophical-Theological University Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt am Main and at the Catholic Marquette University in Milwaukee , USA . In 1990 he received his doctorate. theol. at the Philosophical-Theological University of St. Georgen with an investigation into the peace ethics of Francisco de Vitoria . Since October 1995 he has been director of the Institute for Theology and Peace (ithf) of the German Military Ordinary in Hamburg . In addition, since 2010 he has been the board member of its support foundation, the Catholic Peace Foundation in Hamburg.

In February 2006 Justenhoven was at the Theological Faculty of the University of Freiburg with a thesis on "International Arbitration between ethical standards and legal reality" habilitation . In 2010 he was appointed adjunct professor there. In 2006 he was visiting professor at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago / USA and in 2009 at Hekima College, Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi / Kenya .
