German Conference of Superiors

The DOK German Ordensobernkonferenz e. V. is the representation of the Roman Catholic religious orders in Germany. 412 higher superiors of orders of sisters, priests and brothers are represented in it.

history

The German Conference of Superiors of Orders (DOK) came into being on June 8, 2006 through the merger of the associations of superiors of Germany (VOD), the superiors of the clerical orders and the orders of brothers, i.e. those responsible for the general and provincial leaderships of the religious orders as well as the abbeys and independent monasteries in Germany. The DOK currently has around 412 religious superiors, who in turn represent around 14,200 women religious and around 3,500 men religious.

The general secretariat is located in the "House of Orders" in Bonn (Wittelsbacherring). The Secretary General is Sr. Agnesita Dobler OSF .

The DOK is a member of the Union of European Conferences of Major Superiors (UCESM).

Projects of the German Conference of Superiors are:

  • the magazine Ordenskorrespondenz - magazine for the Catholic religious life
  • "RUACH - Education for Religious", an institute for advanced training on all aspects of religious and monastic life
  • the solidarity work of the Catholic orders of Germany (SW)
  • an internal arbitration board
  • a joint order data protection officer of the DOK
