Reinhold Walser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reinhold Walser is an Austrian physicist. He is professor for theoretical physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life

Reinhold Walser completed his physics studies at the University of Innsbruck . In 1995 he received his PhD. He then went to the University of Colorado as a post-doc . Walser accepted a position at the University of Ulm in 2002 . He then worked at Carl Zeiss before accepting a position at TU Darmstadt in 2009.

Scientific work

In his scientific work, Walser deals with quantum gases . He completed the projects "Non-equilibrium dynamics of atomic gases in trap potentials with controllable geometric shapes" and "Strongly correlated quantum gases in optical lattices" of the German Research Foundation as a subproject manager. With simulations, he played a key role in the production of the largest Bose-Einstein condensate to date .
