The Etsch Cycle Path leads over 345 kilometers as a long-distance cycle path from Landeck to Verona .

Route

The cycle route leads through Tyrol , South Tyrol , Trentino and Veneto . The route begins in Landeck  and leads the first few kilometers through the Upper Inn Valley . It goes over the Reschenpass and through the Vinschgau to Merano .

The route here is the same as on the Via Claudia Augusta . It follows a historic Roman road from antiquity, which already has its starting point in Donauwörth .

From Merano, the Etsch cycle path leads through the now wide Etsch Valley, for the most part along the Etsch via Bolzano and Trento to Verona . It runs along asphalt farm roads between orchards and extensive wine-growing areas, mostly with a subtle gradient in a southerly direction. In Rovereto you can make a detour to Lake Garda and cross the lake on a boat to Desenzano del Garda or Sirmione .

There are no standardized signs on the Etsch cycle path. From Resia there is the regional Vinschgau cycle signage - signs with a white background and a green bicycle. From Merano to Verona, the Etsch cycle path is signposted throughout. The river Etsch is called Adige [ˈaːdid͡ʒe] in Italian .
