The Józef Piłsudski Monument (Polish: Pomnik Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego ) is located on the Lithuanian Square in Lublin , Poland . The monument was erected in honor of Józef Piłsudskis († 1935) a Polish military man, politician and later Marshal of the Second Polish Republic .

The memorial was erected in 2002 in the immediate vicinity of the tomb of the unknown soldier . The equestrian statue was created based on a design from 1937 by Prof. Jan Raszka, a friend of Józef Piłsudski. The model for casting was created on a 1: 1 scale by the sculptors Krzysztof Skóry and Adam Kity. The bronze casting was carried out by Tomasz Zwoliński from Iłża . The equestrian statue was erected on the initiative of Zbigniew Wojciechowski and the Society of Piłsudski Tradition in Lublin.
