The Rekers Betonwerk GmbH & Co. KG is a family owned company of the concrete and precast industry. With four production facilities, the company operated from the Emsland on the business segments precast concrete , precast concrete garages , angular retaining walls and concrete products for road, horticulture and landscaping. The sales markets extend from Germany to neighboring countries.

history

After returning from the First World War, Gerhard Rekers started a construction company in 1919 with a newly founded company. About 15 people were employed at that time. In 1921 there was also a building materials store that sold wood in addition to general building materials. Gerhard Rekers began manufacturing concrete products around 1928 in order to keep the employees busy even in winter when the weather was bad. Mainly concrete pipes and gratings were manufactured. The Second World War interrupted the development of the company, only 5 employees remained. After the end of the war, son Anton joined the company and concrete product production was expanded. In the summer of 1960 Anton Rekers died and his brother, Hubert Rekers, took over the management. The positive development of the company continued, so that in 1969 a new production facility was planned and built on Portlandstrasse in Spelle. In the 1970s there were already 500 employees.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the demand for concrete products rose sharply, a concrete plant was bought in Gelsenkirchen and a new production facility was built near Magdeburg in the new federal states.

In 2000, the Schalke arena, a football stadium with Rekers precast concrete elements, was built for the first time , and the production of precast concrete garages was started in Groß Ammensleben. Since 2004, prefabricated concrete garages and angled retaining walls have also been manufactured in Ochenbruck near Nuremberg. In 2005 the Rekers concrete plant started producing segments for tunnel construction.
